Cookie Policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

FaceFinderLens uses as little storage on your device as it can. There is no advertising network here, nothing is sold, and nothing follows you to other sites.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people find useful and where they get stuck. Analytics cookies — _ga and _ga_<id>, which last up to two years — are set only after you accept. Until then, and if you reject, Google receives cookieless signals such as the fact that a page was viewed, with nothing stored on your device. IP addresses are anonymised. We do not use advertising features, and we do not sell your data.

Remembering your choice

Your answer to the banner is kept in a first-party cookie called ffl-consent for six months, so we do not ask again on every page. It holds one word — granted or denied — and nothing else. This one is strictly necessary: without it there is no way to honour what you chose.

Things kept on your device, not ours

Two things live in your browser’s own storage rather than in a cookie, and neither is sent to us. Your light or dark theme is stored under ffl-theme because you asked for it. Your search results are stored in your browser so the results page can show them again — the server keeps no copy of a search, a photo or a result, as the privacy policy says. Clearing your browser data removes both.

Changing your mind

Rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting — one click, same button, no buried settings. To change your answer later, clear the ffl-consent cookie (or all cookies for this site) in your browser and the banner will ask again. If you reject, analytics cookies are never written, and any that already exist stop being used.
